The US has presented a new peace proposal to Iran.

Modern.az reports that Iran's Tasnim news agency reported this, citing a source.

It is reported that the document was delivered to Tehran through a Pakistani mediator and the Iranian side is currently reviewing the proposal.

US President Donald Trump stated that if Iran does not agree to the proposed terms, Washington is ready to continue military operations. He also said that they could wait a few days for a “correct answer.”

“If we don’t get the right answer, things will happen very quickly,” Trump emphasized.

According to Axios, Trump also discussed the new peace initiative with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a phone call.

According to sources, mediators are currently working on a “letter of intent” for a formal end to the war between the US and Iran and the start of a 30-day negotiation phase.

However, Netanyahu is negative about the talks and wants the resumption of operations to weaken Iran's military capabilities. One of Axios's sources said that Netanyahu was “in shock” after the conversation with Trump. Trump, in turn, said that Netanyahu “will do what the American president wants on the Iran issue” and added that they have good relations.

It should be recalled that Iran presented a 14-point ceasefire plan at the beginning of May. That plan included issues such as guarantees of non-aggression, lifting the blockade imposed on Iranian ports, and unfreezing assets.

Later, the US also put forward five demands to Iran for the resumption of peace talks.
