Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that border protection in the north of the country has been strengthened due to threats from Russia's Bryansk region and Belarus.
Modern.az reports that the head of state said that all defense measures are currently being taken in the Chernihiv-Kyiv direction.
Zelensky emphasized that the border in the direction of Bryansk and Belarus, where Russia is preparing for a new attack, will be strengthened, and additions to the defense and security forces will be involved.
The Ukrainian leader noted that Russia is trying to involve Belarus in the war:
“There is an opportunity to strengthen, and there is also an opportunity to take preventive action regarding Russia's territories - the danger can come from there. The de facto leadership of Belarus must also be constantly vigilant, they must know that if aggressive steps are taken against Ukraine and our people, there will be consequences. We also remember that the attack in 2022 started from the territory of Belarus. We will not forget this. Ukraine's defense and security forces, our intelligence agencies know what dangers exist and how to respond.”
