In Iran, the internet has been cut off for more than 70 hours. Additionally, mobile phone service in the Iranian capital operates intermittently during the day and is completely cut off at night. SMS messaging has also been suspended.

Modern.az reports that this was stated in foreign media reports.

On January 12, US President Donald Trump stated that Washington could take steps to restore Iranians' access to the internet, including by using Starlink mobile terminals.

The internet was shut down across Iran on January 8. Telephone service has also been restricted in some areas. This is believed to be part of the government's crackdown on protesters.
The websites of major national media organizations are also temporarily inaccessible.
