Iran rejected the proposal regarding the Strait of Hormuz.
Modern.az reports that Iran has not accepted the UAE's proposal to create a "safe sea corridor" in the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the information, Pouria Kolivand, the deputy permanent representative of Iran to the UN, called this initiative legally unfounded.
He stated that the creation of such a corridor should be agreed upon with the main coastal states, such as Iran.
According to Kolivand, although Iran closes the strait for ships it considers hostile, it allows neutral ships to pass by observing safety rules and on the basis of an agreement.
It should be noted that against the background of increasing tension in the region, the situation around the Strait of Hormuz remains in the focus of international attention.
