If Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan decides to switch the country to European gas tariffs, the local population will drive him out of power. Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev sharply criticized the Armenian head of government with these words.
Modern.az reports, citing the Russian press, that Medvedev wrote about this on his "MAX" social network account. "Everyone knows that when switching to European gas prices, the population of country 'A' (Armenia) will drive this person with dirty rags directly to Paris, to his loving friend Emmanuel Macron," Medvedev noted.
The Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council also commented on Pashinyan's statement about the importance of maintaining current Russian gas prices for Armenia. Medvedev reminded that gas prices in Europe are currently significantly higher than Armenian tariffs. In his opinion, Yerevan's attempts to balance between Russia and the European Union could lead to serious economic consequences for the country. He also ironically suggested that Armenia start negotiations on the supply of liquefied gas from the United States.
In addition, Medvedev criticized Pashinyan's policy, stating that Yerevan is simultaneously trying to get closer to the European Union and maintain the advantages of participating in the Eurasian Economic Union. According to the Russian official, the Armenian Prime Minister is trying to "sit between two chairs."
