The application of SCADA solutions is envisaged in all projects we implement for water infrastructure.
Modern.az reports that Ilham Bayramov, Deputy Chairman of the State Water Resources Agency of Azerbaijan (ADSEA), said this in an interview with APA.
I. Bayramov noted that one of the final stages of this process is the complete electronization of metering systems:
"Currently, mainly mechanical and smart type meters are used. The service life of most existing meters has expired. Although their service life is approximately 10 years according to technical passports, there are currently meters that have been in use for 12-15 years. Although smart meters provide a certain degree of "smart management" capability, we are already transitioning to new generation meters that are remotely readable and controllable.
These meters were produced based on our special technical requirements, their integration with information systems has been completed, and they are currently in the testing phase.
Overall, the goal is to fully automate the entire water supply system from the water source to the end consumer. Through this system, it will be possible to manage pressure, respond promptly to accidents, reduce losses, and manage the network more efficiently."
