Within the framework of the State Program, the expansion of the drinking water supply and sewage network will be carried out in Baku and the Absheron peninsula.

Modern.az reports that Ilham Bayramov, Deputy Chairman of the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency (ADSEA), said this in an interview with APA.

According to him, as a result, the uninterrupted supply of water and the satisfaction of 95% of the demand for drinking water will be ensured.

The deputy chairman also added that the construction of a centralized sewage system in 64 settlements of Baku, as well as new collectors in 30 main streets and avenues of the city for the purpose of managing rainwater, is planned:

"As a result of the implementation of the State Program, it is planned to increase water supply by 8.2 cubic meters/second in Baku and the Absheron peninsula due to the optimization of water sources, to bring the metering level to 100%, as well as to reduce water losses to 20%," I. Bayramov noted.
