The Central Electoral Commission of Armenia has granted two motions from the Prosecutor General's Office regarding the initiation of criminal prosecution and deprivation of liberty for Andranik Tevanyan, a candidate for deputy from the "Prosperous Armenia" Party.
Modern.az reports that the Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia has opened a criminal case against Tevanyan under Article 418, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Armenia - on charges of treason.
According to the information, the investigation claims that Tevanyan's actions show signs of the crime of treason.
