The “Baku Call to Action” document is based on the principles of cooperation, concrete action, and innovation.

Modern.az reports that Jonathan Oriki Some, a member of the UN-Habitat Youth Advisory Council, stated this at the official closing ceremony of the 13th session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13) held in Baku.

According to him, the document was prepared for the first time based on public consultations, and its initial draft was presented to the public before the forum.

“For young people, housing is a gateway to dignity, security, and belonging. Housing should be connected to education, healthcare, and opportunities.”

He added that by 2050, young people will constitute a large part of the world's population, and in this regard, decisions on the future of cities must take into account the needs of future generations:

“Together, we will change the world,” he emphasized.
