Since the beginning of 2026, Russia's losses on the front have already exceeded 145,000 people. In particular, approximately 86,000 Russian servicemen have been killed, at least 59,000 soldiers have been seriously wounded, and more than 800 servicemen have been taken prisoner.
Modern.az reports that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wrote about this on his Facebook page.
Zelensky noted that he had a detailed discussion with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, regarding activities on the front.
The Ukrainian president added: “We are achieving certain goals in the border region of Sumy Oblast. We also continue to destroy the personnel and equipment of the occupiers in other areas. In particular, I would like to thank our drone operators for their accuracy. Active operations are also continuing, for which paratroopers and assault aircraft should be specially noted.”
He noted that Ukraine continues defensive battles in certain areas of active operations.
“Today, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, reported on the use of long-range drones against Russian oil refining and export facilities. In particular, last night the Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out an operation in the direction of the Yaroslavl oil refinery, located approximately 700 kilometers from our territory. We are bringing the war to Russia, and this is rightly so. Drones were also used against specific targets in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine. We are also developing other forms of our long-range sanctions and medium strikes in response to Russia's strikes on our cities and communities,” Zelensky said. (AzerTac)
