Russian law enforcement agencies have put former world chess champion Garry Kasparov on the international wanted list.
Modern.az reports with reference to the Russian press that this information is contained in the relevant official documents.
Kasparov, who has lived outside Russia for a long time, is being prosecuted by Moscow on various criminal charges, including violating the "foreign agent" legislation and creating an "undesirable organization." He has been known for many years for his strong opposition to the Russian authorities and radical political statements, and is a member of the leadership of various opposition platforms created abroad and the "Free Russia Forum."
It should be noted that chess legend Garry Kasparov was born in Baku in 1963. In 1985, he defeated Anatoly Karpov and won the title of the 13th world champion in chess history.
