The last day of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) held in Baku has started.

Modern.az reports that on the final day of the forum, an official closing press conference dedicated to the results of the discussions held within the framework of WUF13 will be held.

At the press conference, the results of key discussions on housing provision, climate resilience, urban financing, local governance and the implementation of the New Urban Agenda are expected to be announced. It is also reported that the adoption of the "Baku Call to Action" document will be in the spotlight at the event.

The conference will be attended by Anar Guliyev, Chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, National Coordinator for WUF13, Amina J. Mohammed (TBC), UN Deputy Secretary General, Anaklaudia Rossbax, Executive Director of UN-Habitat, and Maria Victoria Romero Caballero, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mexico to Azerbaijan.

In the second half of the day, the official closing ceremony of WUF13 will be held and the hosting of the forum will be handed over to the WUF14 organizers.

After that, the ceremony of lowering the WUF13 flag will take place.

It should be noted that the forum, co-organized by the UN Human Settlements Program (UN-Habitat) and the Government of Azerbaijan, is dedicated to the topic "Providing the world with housing: safe and sustainable cities and communities".

For information, more than 43,500 participants from more than 176 countries gathered within the framework of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum. The forum was represented by government representatives, local self-government bodies, international organizations, business entities, academic circles and civil society.
