The commander of the Greek Air Force (HAF), Demosthenes Grigoriadis, has threatened Turkey.
Modern.az reports, citing foreign media, that he made an ambitious statement about his country's air superiority over Turkey in the Aegean Sea: "Although the absolute numbers are very close, the Greek Air Force maintains its superiority and has more advanced systems, and therefore dominates the sky. We must not forget our military personnel who have gained international prestige and participate in all NATO exercises. We do not belittle anyone, but the enemy will have to think many times before taking any step. The firepower we possess fully ensures our national security."
Despite these claims by the Greek commander, the number and condition of combat aircraft in the Turkish Air Force are superior to those of Greece. Currently, Turkey's arsenal includes more than 230 examples of the F-16 fighter in various modifications alone.
