A large-scale operation was carried out in 7 provinces within the framework of the investigation into the allegations of interference with the voting will of the delegates at the 38th Congress of the Republican People's Party (CHP) in Turkey.

Modern.az reports with reference to the Turkish press that within the framework of the investigation carried out by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, operational measures were carried out by the employees of the Department for Combating Financial Crimes. As a result of raids on addresses identified in Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Sanliurfa, Kahramanmaras, Kilis and Malatya, 13 suspects were detained. Search and confiscation processes were carried out at the mentioned addresses.

The detained persons are reportedly accused of "violation of the Law on Political Parties", "bribery" and "legalization of property obtained through crime". On the other hand, the Supreme Election Board (YSK) rejected CHP's claim of full legal invalidity regarding the existing processes.
