The World Health Organization (WHO) has announced the end of the hantavirus epidemic linked to the cruise ship.

It was stated that after the last identified contact of the person infected with the virus completed the quarantine period and the test result was negative, the epidemic was officially considered over.
According to the information, the cases of infection were mainly related to the rare Andes strain of hantavirus, which is found in Argentina and Chile. This virus, unlike other types of hantavirus, is distinguished by its ability to be transmitted from person to person.
During the epidemic, a total of 13 people were infected with the virus, 3 of whom lost their lives.
