Azerbaijan and Russia will exchange information on citizens' bank accounts, property, income, and other assets.
Modern.az reports that Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law on the ratification of an agreement providing for information exchange during the enforcement of court decisions between CIS countries.
According to the new agreement, Russia's Federal Bailiff Service will be able to request information from relevant state bodies about Russian citizens living or owning property in Azerbaijan, against whom enforcement proceedings are being conducted.
The information exchange will cover citizens' place of work, official income, bank accounts, real estate, cars, shares in companies, and other assets.
The agreement is reciprocal. This means that the Azerbaijani side can also request information from Russia within the framework of relevant enforcement cases.
It should be noted that the document was signed on May 13, 2025, by Azerbaijan, Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
Russia ratified this agreement with the law signed by Putin on November 2.
The main purpose of the agreement is to identify the property and income of debtors during the execution of court decisions and acts of other authorized bodies, and to strengthen legal cooperation between states.
Information exchange will not automatically apply to all citizens. Requests will be sent within the framework of relevant enforcement proceedings.
