Ö.A.K., who was accused of committing a serious crime in Turkey, for whom an arrest warrant was issued, and who was on an international wanted list, was detained in Baku and taken to Turkey.
Modern.az reports that the Turkish Ministry of Internal Affairs issued a statement about this.
According to the information, the operation was carried out within the framework of cooperation between the Department for Combating Organized Crime of the General Directorate of Security of Turkey and the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the Department for Combating Organized Crime of the Istanbul Police Department and the Azerbaijani police.
During the operations carried out by the Turkish Ministry of Internal Affairs, the trace of a person named Ö.A.K., who was determined to be connected with members of new generation criminal groups involved in crimes such as shooting workplaces and attempting to rob businessmen by extorting money, and who are currently in custody for these crimes, was identified.
Ö.A.K., who was wanted on charges of intentional murder, acquiring, accepting, possessing and using narcotic or psychotropic substances for use, as well as acquiring or carrying unlicensed firearms and ammunition in two separate episodes, was detained in Baku and brought to Turkey.
The Ministry stated that the fight against organized criminal groups and urban bandits continues resolutely both within the country and beyond its borders.
The statement thanked the police officers who participated in the operation, the KOM Department of the Turkish Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Istanbul Police Department, as well as the Azerbaijani Police.
