Azerbaijanis' interest in traveling abroad is increasing year by year. Whether for leisure, shopping, education, or work, citizens of the country head to various destinations. So, which countries do Azerbaijanis prefer most for their trips abroad?
In response to Modern.az's inquiry, the Statistics Committee announced the countries most frequently visited by our citizens in January-July 2026:
"In January-July 2026, the total number of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who traveled to foreign countries was 1160.1 thousand people. 42.7 percent of our citizens went to Turkey (2.7 percent more compared to the same period last year), 15.9 percent to the Russian Federation (1.3 percent less), 12.4 percent to Georgia (8.0 percent more), 5.8 percent to Iran (36.3 percent less), and 23.2 percent to other countries (4.1 percent less)," the agency's response stated.
