Armenia's Ambassador to the US, Narek Mkrtchyan, announced that the groundbreaking for the TRIPP project (Zangezur corridor) could take place in early 2027.
Modern.az reports that the ambassador spoke about this in a conversation with journalists.
According to him, the program covers numerous components and relevant studies are currently being conducted in this regard.
“We have passed all stages. Numerous delegations have been sent from our side to Washington, and various interdepartmental meetings have been held in Washington. Now the program has matured and moved to the practical implementation stage. We think that it will be possible to hold the groundbreaking ceremony at the beginning of next year,” the diplomat said.
Mkrtchyan noted that it is necessary to consider how long it takes to prepare project-estimate documents even for the construction of an ordinary building.
“Now imagine how many components this project has,” added the Armenian Ambassador to the US.
