Nikol Pashinyan's decision not to participate in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) summit in Kazakhstan is considered a "certain signal" regarding Armenia's priorities.

Modern.az reports that Aleksey Overchuk stated this in an interview with "Vesti" during the Russian delegation's visit to Ashgabat. Overchuk emphasized that Russia cannot ignore Armenia's course of integration with the European Union. In his opinion, this organization is acquiring the characteristics of a military-political alliance that shows hostile attitudes towards Russia.

The Russian Deputy Prime Minister also stated that Armenia could lose a number of its privileges and face increases in customs duties, gas, and energy prices.

"Official Yerevan simply needs to understand where they are being led. It is clear that customs duties will be applied, and gas and energy prices will change. They will lose some of their advantages. They may gain some, or gain nothing at that," Overchuk said.

Earlier, Vyacheslav Volodin sharply criticized Pashinyan, stating that he responds to Russia's friendship with "malicious, vile, and unethical steps." He also reminded that Russia provides gas to Armenia on extremely preferential terms.

Earlier, Sergey Shoigu also made a statement about the special privilege regarding Russian gas sold to Armenia. Before him, Vladimir Putin had spoken about this issue.
