The transfer of more than 1 million rubles in cash from Russia to Azerbaijan has been restricted.
Modern.az reports that this is reflected in the decree signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin. The new rule applies to Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, as well as member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union. The restriction applies to legal entities and individual entrepreneurs, regardless of the amount transferred.
The decree provides for an exception: a natural person may carry an amount exceeding 1 million rubles if they pass through an international airport designated by the government and confirm with relevant documents that the cash rubles were withdrawn from a bank account. Separate exceptions have also been established for cases related to international transportation and diplomatic needs.
If the rule is violated, the part exceeding 1 million rubles carried by a natural person, and all cash rubles carried by a legal entity and individual entrepreneur, will be confiscated. The decree entered into force on the day of its official publication.
