Apple is preparing to further develop camera capabilities in future iPhone models.
Modern.az reports this, citing the “Apple Insider” platform. According to recent information, the company is working on a 200-megapixel periscope-type telephoto camera, but users will have to wait several years for this innovation to reach them.
“Digital Chat Station,” a famous leak source that shares on the “Weibo” platform, states that Apple is currently in the evaluation phase of this high-resolution camera technology. According to the source, the 200 MP camera could be introduced as early as 2028.
Currently, Apple mainly uses 48-megapixel sensors in its iPhone models and, unlike other manufacturers, is not rushing to higher numbers. However, given the market competition and user demand, the company is expected to take steps in this direction in the future.
It should be noted that Digital Chat Station's leaks are not always accurate. Although it was previously claimed that this technology would be introduced in 2027, recent information indicates that this plan has been postponed. Even some analysts, including representatives from Morgan Stanley, believe that the 200 MP camera will only be possible in 2028 iPhone models.
Due to Apple's confidential manufacturing and development policy, it is difficult to confirm the accuracy of such information. However, the general trend indicates that the company is preparing to make a serious leap in camera technologies in the future.
