Parents and teachers who commit physical violence against a child for educational purposes will be fined up to 200 manats.
Modern.az reports that the issue is reflected in the new proposed article 525-1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses, which was discussed at today's plenary session of the Milli Majlis.
According to the project, parents (persons replacing them), employees of educational, medical, social service, sports, culture, recreation and penitentiary institutions responsible for supervising children will be fined two hundred manats for applying corporal punishment to a child, i.e., committing physical and (or) psychological violence against a child for educational purposes or as a disciplinary measure.
This will be applied if the act does not lead to criminal liability under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code.
The issue was adopted in the third reading.
