On April 17, at about 12 o'clock, forces of the State Fire Protection Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were immediately involved in connection with a fire that occurred in a private residential house located in the area called Baksol road, Binagadi district, Baku city.
Modern.az reports that this is stated in the joint information of the General Prosecutor's Office and the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
According to the information, the fire was extinguished by firefighters and prevented from spreading to a wider area. As a result of the fire, the roof of a one-story four-room house with a total area of 90 square meters belonging to Rafat Hasanov, born in 1968, was burned in an area of 90 square meters, the combustible structures of 2 rooms in an area of 32 square meters, an adjacent canopy with an area of 66 square meters, and a “BMW” brand passenger car parked in the yard of the house, the roof of a one-story four-room house with a total area of 80 square meters belonging to Aziz Valiyev, born in 1982, located nearby, was burned in an area of 80 square meters, and the combustible structures of 3 rooms in an area of 46 square meters.
Also, during the fire reconnaissance, the bodies of Rafat Hasanov were found in the backyard, and Ceyran Hasanova, born in 1968, was found in the house.
As a result of the initial procedural actions carried out by the prosecutor's office employees, reasonable suspicions were established that Rafat Hasanov intentionally killed his ex-wife Ceyran Hasanova in the mentioned house on the basis of personal relations, then burned the house and the car in the yard, and then committed suicide in the backyard.
A criminal case has been initiated by the Binagadi district prosecutor's office under Articles 120.1 (intentional murder) and 125 (bringing to the point of suicide) of the Criminal Code.
Currently, the necessary investigative measures are ongoing.
