The Prosecutor's Office is investigating the Ganja City Executive Power.
Modern.az reports that an investigation has been launched by the Main Department for Combating Corruption under the Prosecutor General's Office in the Ganja Executive Power, based on an appeal from the Chamber of Accounts.
It should be noted that during the audit conducted by the Chamber of Accounts in the Ganja City Executive Power, serious financial irregularities were discovered in construction and repair projects. The audit covered the years 2023–2025 and 192 million manats were checked.
According to the information, the cost of works in the project “Construction of Ganja Sports Palace” was increased by 9.52 million manats. An overpayment of 1.28 million manats was identified for the 249-apartment residential building.
In addition, it was reported that hundreds of thousands of manats in excess funds were paid for the repair of the housing stock, major road repairs, and landscaping works.
The Chamber of Accounts noted that a part of the overpaid funds has been returned to the state budget, and court proceedings are ongoing in some cases.(APA)
