Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, spoke about the issue of Azerbaijani soldier Nasimi Musayev, who crossed the border under unknown circumstances.

Modern.az reports that Simonyan, answering journalists' questions in Yerevan, disagreed with claims that the soldier was a provocateur.

According to him, the Azerbaijani soldier simply got lost and ended up in an unfamiliar area.

Alen Simonyan emphasized that the Azerbaijani side had reported the soldier's disappearance in the initial stage.

In response to a question about why the soldier did not voluntarily surrender to the Armenian authorities if he was truly lost, the Speaker of the Armenian Parliament stated that he was simply looking for food.

According to Simonyan, the Azerbaijani soldier entered an empty house, ate bread there, and then lay down and slept. He also suggested that the soldier might have been injured or had health problems.

Simonyan characterized the incident as an ordinary criminal offense.

It should be recalled that after Nasimi Musayev was found to be absent from his service place in the direction of Lachin district at the end of September, a search was launched for him. A criminal case was initiated by the Military Prosecutor's Office regarding the fact.

On October 1, Nasimi Musayev was detained in Shaki village of Sisian district, Syunik province of Armenia. The Armenian court ordered the arrest of the soldier under investigation for two months.
