The trial related to the famous Rozi nightclub in Gdansk, Poland, has begun.
Modern.az reports, citing foreign media, that according to the investigation, an organized crime network operated for many years under the guise of the club, which was active from 2005 to 2021. The network is alleged to have been involved in prostitution, drug trafficking, and money laundering.
32 people are in the dock in this case. The investigation materials specifically include allegations of women being brought to Poland from abroad and forced into prostitution. It is stated that among these women were those from Azerbaijan, Belarus, and Ukraine.
According to the former head of security of the club, who testified in court, formal marriages were used to legalize the stay of some women in Poland. It is alleged that there was a certain hierarchy in the club among individuals working with women and clients, controlling security, drugs, and finances.
According to the investigation, a large amount of income was obtained as a result of the network's activities. The case involves approximately 45 million zlotys in income and the seizure of 17 real estate properties with a total value of 25 million zlotys.
Furthermore, the investigation is also looking into allegations that individuals connected to the club illegally obtained approximately 450,000 zlotys in state aid during the COVID-19 pandemic. One of the individuals named in the case, Grzegorz H., was previously mentioned in the media in the context of his acquaintance with Polish President Karol Navrotski. The trial began on August 13 at the Gdansk District Court. The next hearing is scheduled for September 17.
It should be noted that all defendants are considered innocent until their guilt is proven by a legally binding court verdict.
