A 6.2 magnitude earthquake occurred in Indonesia's Banda Sea.
Modern.az reports that according to the Indonesian Agency for Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics (BMKG), the epicenter of the tremors was located at a depth of 143 kilometers.
Due to the great depth of the earthquake, there was no tsunami threat. BMKG confirmed that there was no tsunami risk after the event.
Currently, there are no reports of destruction or serious consequences as a result of the earthquake. There is also no information about deaths or injuries.
Experts continue to monitor the seismic situation in the region and possible aftershocks.
