The Panama-flagged cargo ship "Ocean Winner" sank in the Bay of Bengal, approximately 240 nautical miles off the coast of Odisha, India.
Modern.az reports that there were 24 people on board the ship (20 Chinese, 3 Myanmar, and 1 Bangladeshi citizen).
The Indian Coast Guard and Navy have launched a search and rescue operation. Two crew members have already been rescued from two life rafts. The search for the other individuals continues.
The ship was transporting iron ore from Odisha to Singapore. Contact with the ship was lost before it sank. The cause of the incident is not yet known.
