Russian President Vladimir Putin and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenka are expected to have a phone conversation in the near future.
Modern.az reports that Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov informed about this.
According to him, during the conversation between the leaders, the statements made by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy regarding Belarus and other topical issues will be discussed.
Peskov stated that Zelenskyy's statements addressed to Belarus "are completely aggressive in nature" and assessed this as interference in the internal affairs of another state, as well as an attempt on its sovereignty.
The Kremlin spokesman emphasized that Moscow has no doubts about the ability of the Belarusian leadership to ensure the country's sovereignty.
Peskov also touched upon the situation with fuel prices in Russia. He stated that the government is taking measures in this direction and coordinated activities are being carried out with oil companies. According to him, work is continuing to improve the supply of fuel to the population.
He also spoke about the change of prime minister in Great Britain. Peskov noted that Keir Starmer has not shown himself in terms of the development of Russian-British relations and has been in favor of these relations remaining at a low level. The Kremlin spokesman stated that they do not expect the next British prime minister to take a different position towards Russia.
In addition, Peskov confirmed that the issue of Gazprom's sale of its stake in NIS, Serbia's national oil company, is being discussed between Moscow and Belgrade.
