Scientists propose to search for traces of alien technologies that may have existed billions of years ago on the Moon's surface.
Modern.az reports that researchers at the SETI Institute believe that microscopic particles or artificial debris could have accumulated on the Moon's surface over a long period.
According to experts, the Moon is more suitable for such “cosmic archaeology” than Earth. This is due to the absence of atmosphere, water, and active geological processes on the Moon. While possible traces on Earth are destroyed by natural processes, they can remain in lunar dust for billions of years.
Until now, SETI primarily searched for alien civilizations through radio telescopes. The new approach involves investigating physical traces that could arise from cosmic activity in lunar soil.
Scientists emphasize that this is currently a scientific hypothesis, and no evidence of alien technologies on the Moon has been discovered yet.
