Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov met with the Minister of Economy and Industry of the Syrian Arab Republic Mohammed Al Shaar on September 26.
The Cabinet of Ministers told Modern.az that the importance of the Second Azerbaijan International Investment Forum was emphasized at the meeting.
It was emphasized that relations between Azerbaijan and Syria have developed with positive dynamics recently.
It was noted that the meetings and continuous contacts held between the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the Transitional President of the Syrian Arab Republic Ahmed Al Sharaa created a favorable ground for strengthening bilateral political dialogue, as well as expanding cooperation in various fields.
The supply of Azerbaijani natural gas to Syria was evaluated as an important example of economic cooperation between the two countries yielding practical results.
The importance of initiatives implemented in the humanitarian field, including the project aimed at restoring educational infrastructure in Syria with the support of the Azerbaijani Government, was emphasized.
At the meeting, the prospects for the development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Syria in trade-economic, investment, energy, infrastructure and humanitarian fields were discussed.
Deputy Prime Minister Samir Sharifov also participated in the meeting.
