Unfounded claims spread in some Turkish media resources and social media accounts about mass arrests related to the hijab in Azerbaijan and people leaving the country for this reason are a clear example of disinformation aimed at manipulating public opinion and forming a false impression about our country by using religious sensitivities.

Modern.az reports that this was stated in the announcement of the Media and Broadcasting Council.

It was noted that the participation of individual political and public figures in the dissemination of such fake information, and the presentation of unfounded claims with offensive expressions, is contrary to the public responsibility they bear, as well as an unacceptable manifestation of the abuse of their influence on the audience.

"The Media and Broadcasting Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan strongly condemns the dissemination of fake information about our country, calls on media representatives, political and public figures to act responsibly in information dissemination, and the public to approach such shares critically, to check information from reliable sources and not to be an intermediary in the spread of disinformation," it was emphasized.
