The British public broadcaster BBC is preparing for large-scale redundancies.
Modern.az reports that "Financial Times" has published information about this.
According to the information, the BBC plans to cut approximately 2,000 jobs as part of its cost-cutting strategy. As a result of this step, the institution is expected to save hundreds of millions of pounds sterling.
According to sources, BBC divisions have been instructed to reduce costs by approximately 10 percent.
The cuts are expected to particularly affect news services. Approximately a quarter of the BBC's more than 20,000 employees work in the news division.
It is reported that the changes will also cover radio programs. Audiences and listeners are expected to feel the results of the recent restructuring soon.
