Within the framework of the media meeting, attended by 40 journalists from local, national, and foreign media, a media and education panel was also held in cooperation with the Uzbekistan University of Journalism and Mass Communications. The KGK delegation visited the Turkish Ambassador to Tashkent, Ufuk Ulutaş, as well as the Chairman of the Uzbekistan Journalists' Union, Shohrat Aripov, and the Tashkent head of the Anatolian Lions Businessmen's Association, Ercan Bulut. They also participated in a painting exhibition opened in Tashkent at the invitation of Volkan Güldürmez, the General Manager of Ziraat Bank Uzbekistan.

Some Turkish-origin companies operating in Uzbekistan also gave presentations to the KGK delegation. The delegation, who attended the first dinner organized at the Arboroma restaurant in Tashkent as guests of ASKON, received information about the activities of Turkish businessmen in Uzbekistan from ASKON head Ercan Bulut. On the second evening, the delegation, guests of TSP company which carries out technology investments in the famous Besh Kazan restaurant in Tashkent, was accompanied by the company's General Manager I. They discovered their ancestral homeland

KGK member journalists, including the renowned journalist-writer Yavuz Donat, stated in their impressions shared after spending five days in the main cities of Uzbekistan that the brotherly Uzbekistan and their ancestral homeland had impressed them.

After visiting historical and tourist sites in the capital Tashkent, the delegation traveled to Samarkand, the country's second-largest city, by high-speed train for approximately 2.5 hours. Here, they explored the Registan Square, one of Amir Timur's most magnificent works and one of the world's most famous architectural monuments, accompanied by a guide.

After history-rich Samarkand, the delegation traveled to Bukhara by high-speed train. In the mystical atmosphere of Bukhara, they visited complexes belonging to various Islamic communities and sects dating back centuries and gathered information.

Khorezm region

The delegation's last stop was the Khorezm province, where the historical cities of Khiva and Urgench are located. Reaching Khiva by car from Bukhara, crossing the famous Kyzylkum Desert, the delegation explored the traces of the Khorezmshahs, one of the greatest states in Turkic-Islamic history.

The delegation, which received information about the magnificent fortress complex dating from the 13th-14th centuries, the structures within it, and the social life that continues today, was hosted on the last day by ODAŞ company, which carries out energy projects in the Khorezm region, at Sofrada, one of Khiva's famous venues.

At the event, attended by ODAŞ General Coordinator Özkan Oral, local dishes and drinks were served accompanied by live Turkish music. After dinner, the delegation watched the performance of a folklore group showcasing traditional folk dances of the Khorezm region and departed from Urgench airport towards Istanbul in the morning of June 7.

DIM: It was very useful

After the conclusion of the Uzbekistan Media Meeting, KGK Chairman DIM expressed his satisfaction that the event was completed according to the program without any problems:

“We spent five full and memorable days in the ancient lands of brotherly Uzbekistan with a very strong delegation. We returned with unforgettable memories and valuable friendships. I believe that this meeting was extremely useful in terms of media solidarity and public diplomacy, as well as brotherhood and social unity. The importance of the media and education panel we organized in Tashkent in terms of professional development should also be specially emphasized. As with all our events, we are proud to have realized this with our own resources. I am grateful to our members for their support and participation. As a council, our activities and initiatives will continue in various geographies in the coming months.”
