Another star football player of “Qarabağ” has left the team.
Modern.az reports that the club has issued a statement about this.
It was stated that Leandro Andrade has been transferred to the Ukrainian club “Polesye”. The offer from the Ukrainian club and the midfielder's wish were taken into account and positively responded to. Negotiations between the clubs were successfully concluded and an agreement was reached between the parties.
It should be noted that the Cape Verdean footballer has been wearing the “Qarabağ” jersey since January 2022. He became the champion of Azerbaijan in the 2021-2022, 2022-2023, 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 seasons with the team, and won the Azerbaijan Cup in the 2021-2022 and 2023-2024 seasons.
Andrade, who contributed to “Qarabağ”'s advancement to the 1/8 finals of the UEFA Europa League in the 2023-2024 season and the play-offs of the UEFA Champions League in the 2025-2026 season, participated in the main stages of the UEFA Europa League in the 2022-2023 and 2024-2025 seasons, and the play-off stages of the UEFA Conference League in the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 seasons.
Leandro scored 60 goals in a total of 213 matches he played for “Qarabağ”. During his time at “Qarabağ”, he made history in European club tournaments. He is the first and only player to score a goal in the 1st minute of three different matches in the main stages.
We should also mention that L. Andrade was the most expensive player of “Qarabağ” club. His transfer value is 3.5 million euros.
