The number of former internally displaced persons returning to the liberated territories of Azerbaijan has exceeded 36,000.
Modern.az reports that this information is reflected in the publication of the State Statistical Committee on the economic and social development indicators of the country for January-May 2026.
It was stated that, according to the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons, within the framework of the “First State Program on the Great Return to the Liberated Territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan” approved by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated November 16, 2022, 36,492 former internally displaced persons returned to the liberated territories by June 1, 2026.
According to the information, the total number of people living, working, and studying in the liberated territories has reached 88,123.
