The results of some matches held within the 3rd round of the group stage in the World Cup-2026 in football have increased the number of teams reaching the “play-off”.
Modern.az reports that the group stage matches in groups A, B and C have ended. As a result, 13 of the 32 teams that will play in the “play-off” have been determined.
Mexico, USA, Canada, Germany, France, Argentina, Norway, Colombia, Switzerland, Brazil, Morocco and South Africa qualified for the “play-off” by taking first and second places in their groups. Although Bosnia and Herzegovina took third place in the group, it advanced to the “play-off” due to its points.
It should be noted that the first pair to meet in the play-off is also known: South Africa - Canada. This match of the 1/16 final stage will start on June 28 at 23:00 Baku time.
