Russia has stated its readiness to be a platform for signing a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Modern.az reports that this was stated by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin in his statement within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

Touching upon his country's mediation mission, he said:

"As before, we are ready to help Yerevan and Baku in opening transport and economic communications, solving humanitarian issues, as well as preparing and presenting the Russian platform for signing a peace treaty."

M. Galuzin noted that official Moscow supports efforts to normalize relations between the parties within the framework of the trilateral agreements reached by the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia in 2020-2022.

The Deputy Minister also emphasized that the "3+3" regional cooperation platform, which unites Russia, Iran, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia, has significant potential.
