It has been reported that the reason for Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei not appearing in public is solely due to security concerns.
Modern.az reports that Mohammad Reza Naghdi, an advisor to the commander-in-chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), said this in an interview with the US PBS television channel.
“This is his own strategy. Our enemy is criminal and does not obey any law. Of course, this is related to security issues. Undoubtedly, there is no other reason,” Naghdi said.
However, he refused to answer whether he had personally met Mojtaba Khamenei.
“Let’s put this issue aside,” Naghdi said.
It should be noted that Iran's previous Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was killed in 2026. After Ali Khamenei died on February 28 as a result of a joint attack by the US and Israel against Iran, his son Mojtaba Khamenei was appointed Supreme Leader.
Mojtaba Khamenei has not appeared in public since the beginning of the US-Israel military operation against the Islamic Republic.
Tehran has repeatedly stated that Khamenei's health is not at risk.
