French President Emmanuel Macron called on Iran to support the Franco-British initiative in the Strait of Hormuz.
Modern.az reports that Macron said he offered the Iranian President to “take advantage of the opportunity” created by the multilateral mission project supported by France and Great Britain.
According to the information, Paris and London are trying to form an international initiative of “purely defensive nature” in the Strait of Hormuz.
The main goal of the initiative is to ensure the safety and free movement of shipping in this strategically important waterway. At the same time, the project is intended to be implemented without direct involvement in the conflict.
