It was claimed that the village of Jiliza, located in northern Armenia, near the Georgian border and part of the Alaverdi community, could be handed over within the framework of the demarcation process.

Modern.az reports that Nazeli Baghdasaryan, head of the press service of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, denied the information that the village of Jiliza would be given to Georgia within the framework of border demarcation.

"The disseminated information is disinformation. There is no statement or agreement regarding the handover of any part of the country's sovereign territory," said Nazeli Baghdasaryan, the Prime Minister's press secretary.

It should be noted that Armenia and Georgia have been discussing the issue of state border demarcation since 1992. Since 1996, commissions for the delimitation and demarcation of borders have been operating between the two countries, but the process has been in a passive phase for a long time.

The Georgian side considers the village of Jiliza to be part of the Kvemo Kartli region.
