According to the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development's "Health at a Glance 2025" report, Turkey ranks first among member countries in the number of daily smokers.
According to Modern.az, the report states that the share of daily smokers among the population aged 15 and over in Turkey is 28.3 percent. This indicator is significantly higher than the average for the organization. Thus, the average number of daily smokers in member countries is 14.8 percent.
Turkey ranks first in the list with this indicator, leaving behind other countries, including Hungary.
