Claims regarding the resignation of Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran (parliament), from the leadership of the country's negotiating team with the US have been denied.
Modern.az reports that “Tasnim” published this information.
Iman Shamsayi, head of the Media Center of the Iranian parliament, stated in his social media post that the claim of “Ghalibaf's departure from the leadership of the negotiating team” put forward by some individuals and groups is false.
“The new claim by some individuals about Dr. Ghalibaf's removal from the leadership of the negotiating team is an obvious lie and completely unfounded. This is a continuation of the destructive line that targeted military commanders yesterday and attacks the reputation of martyrs today.
One cannot expect any other behavior from a group with a history of attacking military commanders, the Office of the Supreme Leader, and great Marja's of emulation...
I emphasize once again: Dr. Ghalibaf is still the head of the negotiating team and, at the same time, has been appointed as the system's special representative for China affairs at the suggestion of the esteemed president and with the approval of the Supreme Leader,” the parliament's spokesperson noted.
