President Ilham Aliyev has signed an Order on the conscription of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan for fixed-term active military service from July 1 to July 30, 2026, and the discharge of fixed-term active military servicemen into the reserve.
Modern.az reports that, according to the Order, citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan born in 2008 and having reached the age of 18 by the day of conscription (including that day), as well as those born between 1996 and 2007, under the age of 30, who have not served fixed-term active military service in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan, do not have the right to deferment from fixed-term active military service, or have not been exempted from fixed-term active military service, are called up for fixed-term active military service from July 1 to July 30, 2026.
Fixed-term active military servicemen who have completed the service period stipulated in Article 38.1.1 of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On Military Duty and Military Service” are discharged into the reserve from July 1 to July 30, 2026.
The Cabinet of Ministers must take the measures provided for in the legislation for the execution of this Order.
