Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan spoke by phone with United States President Donald Trump.

Modern.az reports that information about this was spread on the "X" social network account of the Turkish Presidential Administration.

It was noted that the leaders discussed existing relations between the countries, as well as regional and global issues.

The Turkish leader evaluated the US decision to extend the ceasefire with Iran as a positive step, expressed his deep belief in the possibility of a reasonable solution to disputed issues, and stated that he would continue to support the constructive initiatives put forward.

Erdogan also noted that the establishment of a stable environment in Syria is an important achievement for the entire region, that Ankara's support for Damascus will continue uninterrupted, and that it is important to prevent the deterioration of the situation in Lebanon.

The head of the Turkish state also offered his condolences to Trump regarding the attack on one of the mosques in San Diego, USA, and emphasized that Ankara is strongly against this type of hate crime, regardless of which religious group it is committed against.
