Some manufacturers put vodka products of unknown origin on sale in the regions below cost price.
Modern.az reports that this is stated in a statement issued by the “Free Consumers” Public Union (AIIB).
The organization notes that as of 2026, the tax burden for 1 liter of vodka averages 6.20–6.50 manats, and if the minimum selling price for manufacturers should be approximately 14 manats, some producers who disregard these calculations offer 1-liter packaged vodka in the regions at prices of 6.0-7.50 manats.
Based on information and investigations received from consumers, AIIB reports that since a minimum selling price is not applied for manufacturers, some producers again offer low-quality vodka products to retail chains, wedding venues, and public catering facilities, even at prices below cost.
