After the Patriotic War, 422 of our citizens became mine victims - MFA

“Mines in Azerbaijan still cause people to lose their lives. On April 14, an employee of the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) died after stepping on an anti-tank mine in Ashaghi Abdurrahmanli village of Fuzuli region.”

Modern.az reports that this was stated in the information of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

    It was noted that this tragedy once again demonstrates the persistent humanitarian threat posed by mines and the risks faced every day by people working to make the liberated territories safe.

    “Since the 2020 war, 422 Azerbaijani citizens have become mine victims. There is an urgent need to increase international support for expanding demining efforts,” the statement emphasized.

    It should be noted that today a mine incident occurred in the liberated Ashaghi Abdurrahmanli village of Fuzuli region.

    ANAMA employee Matili Mughan Rafayil oglu, born in 1995, died as a result of an anti-tank mine explosion while performing his official duties. As a result of the incident, the employee lost his life.
