A list of countries with the largest proven natural gas reserves in the world has been announced.
Modern.az reports, citing the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) report, that Russia ranked first with 47.7 trillion cubic meters of gas reserves. Iran ranked second with 33.9 trillion cubic meters, and Qatar ranked third with 23.8 trillion cubic meters.
In the list, the US is fourth with 17.4 trillion cubic meters, and Turkmenistan is fifth with 11.3 trillion cubic meters.
Saudi Arabia (9.5 trillion cubic meters), United Arab Emirates (8.2 trillion cubic meters), China (7.5 trillion cubic meters), Nigeria (5.9 trillion cubic meters) and Venezuela (5.5 trillion cubic meters) are in the next places.
