The National Intelligence Organization (MİT) conducted an operation against an international spy network that transferred sensitive information to foreign intelligence services in Turkey.
Modern.az reports that in the operation carried out simultaneously in 4 provinces within the framework of the Ankara-centered investigation, 7 suspects, including the person reported to be the leader of the network, were detained, and 2 people were announced to be in prison for another crime.
According to the information, the network collected sensitive information about non-governmental organizations, associations, public groups and state employees in Turkey and transferred it to foreign intelligence agencies.
As a result of the investigation, the network's communication, reporting and financing mechanisms were exposed, and a measure of restraint was taken against the 7 detained persons.
